Every division runs the same circuit and the same hire fleet on the same day, so lap times compare directly across the whole championship. The pace index is a driver's best lap of each race day as a percentage above the outright fastest lap set by anyone that day, averaged over the rounds they attended. Lower is faster. Qualifying and race pace are measured against the fastest driver in their own division in that same session. Drivers need 3+ rounds of lap data for a field rank. Click any column to sort.

Raw positions gained rewards whoever starts furthest back, so the headline measure is capture rate: net positions gained divided by positions available, where available is the number of karts that lined up ahead of you, counted within your own race when a division was split into A and B finals. 100% means passing every kart in front of you, every time. Negative means finishing behind where you started. Drivers marked ◦ have a small sample.

The Stony Creek reverse-grid race is excluded here because its grid is deliberately inverted; the all-races column adds it back. Positions are division-wide as the VHKC scores them. SD is the spread of a driver's finishes: low means they land in the same spot every round.

Sunday 16 August at A1 Supa Karts, Maiden Gully. The round runs a reverse grid race first (scored 30 points down), then a feature race (scored 90 points down). The reverse grid is a full inversion of qualifying and the feature grid is qualifying order, so the two races together pay a maximum of 120, the same as every other round.

This page is an unofficial fan project. All of it is computed from the result reports the VHKC publishes after each round, which include qualifying times, grid slots, finishing positions, best laps and points for every driver. Standings and points are shown exactly as published, including any penalties applied by the series.
Pace index
Lap times only compare fairly on the same track, in the same karts, on the same day. Every VHKC division races the same venue on the same day, so each driver's best lap is expressed as a percentage above the outright fastest lap set by anyone at that venue that day:
A worked example: the fastest lap at Ace Karts was 38.999. A lap of 39.439 gives (39.439 / 38.999 - 1) x 100 = 1.13%, which is 0.44 seconds. The useful conversion is that 1% of a lap equals the lap time divided by 100, so on a 40 second lap 1% is 0.40s.
The rating puts that on a 0 to 100 scale: 0.6% off the day's benchmark scores 100, and 6.0% off scores 0. The anchors come from this field: 0.6% is roughly what the outright quickest drivers manage, and 6% is roughly the back of Division 3.
Qualifying pace and race pace are measured inside each driver's own division, against the best lap set in that same session, because divisions run hours apart and track grip changes through the day. The gap is qualifying pace minus race pace: positive means a driver races better than they qualify.
Capture rate
Net positions gained divided by positions available, where available is the number of karts that started ahead of you, summed over every race:
It is grid-independent, so a driver who starts 4th and one who starts 18th compare fairly. Two care points: where a division split into A and B finals, availability is counted within the driver's own race, not against the whole division; and the measure is asymmetric, since a front-row starter has almost nothing to gain and plenty to lose, which is why values below -100% are possible. Small samples, under 3 races or 8 available places, are flagged rather than ranked.
Honest caveats
Hire karts are not equal. Fitting driver, kart and session effects to this season's data puts the typical kart draw at a few tenths of a second per lap, with roughly one kart in ten more than 1% off, so any single-round number carries kart luck. Race laps can also be flattered by a tow or ruined by traffic. Averages across the season are much more reliable than any single round, and drivers with one or two rounds of data are noise.
Positions at Rounds 1 and 2 are division-wide across the A and B finals, as the VHKC publishes them, which is correct for points but makes a B-final driver's starting number look deeper than the grid they physically lined up on.
